Getting started

  1. Install GMVify Order Editing from the Shopify App Store and open it from your admin.
  2. In Settings, choose what customers can change (address, items and quantities, personalization, cancelling) and how long each stays open.
  3. Follow the setup guide on the app’s home page to add the edit button to customer accounts and the thank-you page. No code is needed.
  4. Place a test order, open it from the customer account and change something. The change appears on the order and in the app’s edit log.

Common questions

A customer can’t see the edit button

Check that the order is still open for editing: it hasn’t shipped, fulfillment or production hasn’t started, it doesn’t have your lock tag, nobody locked it, and it’s within the time you allowed. Then check that the setup guide shows the customer account and thank-you page steps as done.

Where do I see the version to make?

In the Order editing block on the order page in your admin. It shows the current version of each personalized item, and you can lock or reopen editing there. Shopify’s own order page, packing slips and apps that read line item properties still show what was ordered first, so make the version the block shows.

What happens when the total changes?

When a customer owes more, they get a payment link and the order stays on hold until it’s paid; the app lists unpaid orders for you to follow up. When the total goes down, the refund goes back on its own, to the original payment or as store credit, or waits for you to approve it, as you choose in Settings.

Can customers cancel?

Yes, if you allow it. You can let them cancel on their own or have each request wait for your approval.

Can I turn off the emails?

Yes. The customer’s confirmation and your notice can each be turned off in Settings.

How do I remove GMVify Order Editing?

Uninstall it from Settings › Apps in your admin. It adds no code to your theme. Editing stops at once, and our records are deleted 48 hours after Shopify confirms the uninstall; the changes made stay on your orders. See the privacy policy for details.
